PW IS OVER! And to think two days ago i was frantically cutting words out of my I&R because i can never stick to the word limit. CJ003 rocks though >3< i'm so glad i got these awesome people as my groupmates. Won't ever look at Capitol Theatre the same way again. Actually, i have loads of people to thank for helping me get through PW: my group (of course), Mr Kang (for demanding so much of each component, which will help us do better in the long run), and even my parents for sending me to wherever my group's meeting up lollll. Sorry if this post doesn't sound coherent, i'm kinda brain-dead. Studying for my Japanese oral exam reminded me how pathetic my grammar is.
Oral's in 2 days' time, the written paper is next Monday evening (sob i can't watch the evening cartoons) and listening is on Wednesday evening. Really, really hoping i can move up to the next level since we'll be learning kanji (the chinese characters) and katakana (i can read some characters durhurr, you don't watch 244345748950 million animes without picking up the basics). Actually the lousy grammar's probably my fault since i don't really go over the work after every lesson but cram it all into my head before term exams. I'll try and look through the oral questions by tonight and revise the earlier topics tomorrow before going back to school to collect my results (the promos cum midyear results).
Watched Love Happens with my group and Victor, Cheryl and Ivan after OP yesterday. Cried manly tears watching it. It's always on-screen theatrics that makes me cry. And we were watching it in a multiplex, which reminds me of our project. The movies in November/December are looking good, i wanna watch My Girlfriend Is An Agent!
Cycled with I-van, Mich, Ben and Amos today at ECP. I played Project Diva for the first time today! \o/ Must...unlock...more...songs... we camwhored lots, and yay for jump shots, they're so fun to do! Cycling is fun when it's done at a leisurely pace~
Man it's almost 12, i'd better finish those oral questions and sleep. Wish my computer could type Japanese so i can spam Japanese posts... when i master the language.
Ja, mata ne~

Thursday, September 03, 2009. 5:26 AM . hi, this is another time-wasting post .
'sup people, apologies for lack of real life pictures because i'm really lazy and i'll have to transfer them from my camera to the computer and that's too much work =v=
I always blog when i'm procrastinating, and this time round it's also because i'm trying to put off studying for my Econs test tomorrow. Negative Externalities...
At least it's the last day of the term :) a certain +1 in the UK just started school right? Good luck with PCME man~ learning about absolute error or something like that (fyi, dropped physics after sec 2 because i couldn't get my head around the maths that was involved in it. Those first/second/third-class levers just about killed me back in primary school, ffft. Found a piece of paper left behind from a physics lecture while we were getting ready for history lecture. Ivan, the betch, knowing that i didn't do O-level physics, asked me to try the question which was asking about this pendulum and oscilliations and to calculate absolute error. Sooo, absolute error=totally wrong, literally. YEAAAH, and i didn't even need a GC to answer the question! *basks in glory of my awesomeness hahaha*)
We're going to an army camp tomorrow! But i'm a girl, and i don't need to do NS...
Eeesh i have to mug over the holidays for my promos. The thing is, i really don't seem to have the drive to study nowadays, but THIS IS A MAJORLY IMPORTANT EXAM SO I HAVE TO BUCK UP. At least i have Hetalia to make learning History more interesting (or just plain funny at times). It's really amusing reading about US and UK... have some paraphrased extracts from my notes (just the gist of the points, i can't remember exactly what they said) and even Newsweek which i am reading to boost my intellect. *dramatic music*
From my notes: "In the aftermath of the Cold War, nuclear non-proliferation treaties were signed. The UK demonstrated unwillingness to get rid of their nuclear weapons but the US exerted pressure on them by getting rid of the nuclear bases".
"President of the USA Harry Truman exerted diplomatic pressure on the UK to find a solution to the Palestine issue". <--i think this led to the UN Partition Plan of 1948, but i'm not too sure since the Arab-Israeli conflict is a new topic and it's not tested for promos so i'm basically mugging Post-CW world and ASEAN and inter-state tensions.
From Newsweek, the article about an empire in decline: "For years, the UK has been able to maintain a certain amount of economic clout due to their extraordinary relationship with the US".
Ok, it's not very amusing if you simply see it as words talking about how the US has a great influence on the UK, but if you watch Axis Powers Hetalia and see USA and the UK as a couple, it's side-splittingly funny.

Yep, at first i wuz liek "dese r juz mah history notes nutthang funneh at all history iz seriuz buzinezz" but den i lol'd rly hard

This is how America/Alfred F. Jones looks like in Axis Powers Hetalia ISN'T HE THE CUTEST THING <3

And this is UK (full name: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)/Arthur Kirkland! (yes that is the cover of UK's drama CD)
Funny, isn't it? Especially when you attach a human face to the country. Obviously, for the full effect, you'll need to have a slightly wacky mind (anime otakus know what i'm talking about hurr)
And when i Googled these pictures i had a hard time finding separate pictures of Alfred and Arthur. UNRAVEL THE CONNOTATIONS, LITERATURE STUDENTS~
Yea so i think my econs notes are waiting for me.

Hey all, i'm PW-ing.
If any of you reading this have a Facebook account, please do join our Facebook group "Conserving Capitol Theatre" or invite your friends to join, it's an open group! We need as many members as possible. If you do so, i will "lavish upon you the kindest caresses" <3
Okay that quotation was from Wuthering Heights, my lit text. But i'll still love you very much for joining!
Augghhhh i have Maths and Econs tests tomorrow and school doesn't end till 5 :( and the worst thing is i don't even feel like studying for the tests. Tomorrow, as i sit at my desk tearing my hair out over area under a curve or a question about monopoly or PC, i'll think "Whyyyyyy did i waste time typing out another boring blog entry with no pictures which no one's gonna read whyyyyyyyy"
Yeah, lack of pictures because i'm too lazy to transfer pictures from my phone or camera to the computer.
Fuuuuu, remind me to:
1.Mug over the weekend
2.Watch Junjou Romantica
3.Watch Hetalia
4.Draw USxUK
5.Start CGing the Hetalia group picture which i almost died in the process of drawing.

Monday, July 27, 2009. 6:40 AM . OWWW FFFFF .
Working on my magazine article and uhh, blogging because i have issues concentrating on one thing at a time, especially when it involves a computer and the wonders of the Internet.
I only slept 4+ hours yesterday night because i was chionging lit (well actually, i did lit stuff till 12, and spent an hour reading Sophie Kinsella's newest book. Chick lit is awesome). And i'm a person who absolutely can't function without sleep. But somehow i stayed on my feet in school. Maybe it's cos odd week Mondays are a little less intense. I always hate Mondays because they involve going back to school. i'd rather be sleeping.
Did i mention i got a new phoneeeeee~? <3 i bling-ed it up a little because the little Alfred handphone strap i got from Cosfest dropped. He must have been lonely because i didn't buy Arthur as well (note to self: buy these characters as a pairing next time). Luckily, he didn't get lost like most of the keychains i drop do. I stuffed him in my file.
My head hurts.
This is a good song :3
I think i should sleep now.

Hey guys, nagged to update my blog by +1 (while i was discussing Women In Love stuff for school, no less! You're dead, +1) so ta-da! UPDATE :)
Tagged by Samzy, it's an artist tag! Hohoho +1 you shall have to suffer through descriptions of my gay porn art yeahhh!! *does hard gay pelvic thrusts*
Ok, i know i'm coming across as a complete sicko D:
【Artist Baton】
◆Your name?
Felicia/walkin-proud (deviantart username heehee)
◆If possible, your age?
16+, and i feel terrible because there are artists who are barely 13 and already so kickass. *emos*
◆When did you start drawing?
i doodled pictures of Ash and Pokemon when i was 8, but i only got serious about improving my art when i was 15. The turning point was watching the Death Note life action movies when i was 14. I was looking for fanart online, and i naturally got linked to Deviantart, where i realised i wanted to be just like the artists there =v= spent the next one year browsing through people's art, and took an 8-lesson manga-drawing course. I've been practicing on my own since then.
◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right
◆Which is easier to draw – male or female?
Used to be female, but now i find males easier to draw (no prizes for guessing why)
◆Which is easier to draw – long hair or short hair?
Long hair
◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Right. Actually, both are kinda hard for me
◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Front view!!! Oh man i fail at side view
◆What do you have problems in drawing?
Dynamic poses, anatomy, hands, feet, clothes
◆What do you like to draw?
BoyxBoy (shonen-ai), BoyxGirl (straight), chibis(smaller versions of the original-sized characters), group pictures (depends on my mood. Right now i'm working on a Hetalia group picture that's killing me haha)
◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
Both. I use pencils to draw, but a tablet to digitally ink and colour my work. i still have a long way to go with the soft-cel CG technique >w<
◆Where do you start drawing from?
Head, duh
◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I need reference pictures for pictures i intend to put online because i'm especially worried about screwing up (when i doodle in class or for fun it's from memory), i like to listen to music as i draw and i always use a mechanical pencil even though most traditional artists recommend using wooden pencils *is an outcast*
◆What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
Lines should be lighter and softer in the direction where light is casting, and harder in shadows. Turn on the "pen pressure" button or my lines will all look hard and solid. GRIP THE TABLET PEN SO MY LINES WON'T COME OUT SHAKY. (hurray for ctrl+z, i use it A LOT)
◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
Take note of the light source, and areas where the clothes fold. A reference picture would also be good :)
◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
32819034732047654 hours (sketching time varies depending on how big the picture is, inking takes very long and colouring takes even longer)
◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
Whatever's on my iPod :) sometimes it matches what i'm drawing. For example, i'm working on this Hetalia group picture atm, and Marukaite Chikyuu keeps popping up as i draw! It's karma, i tell you!
◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Depends on whether i'm inspired or not. My inspiration comes from those Deviantart pictures and real life experience.
◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
Mechanical pencils, A4 size paper, Bamboo Fun Tablet, Photoshop CS3
◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Green, but since i usually draw fanart i just use the colour scheme that comes with the characters haha
◆Your favorite style(s)?
Animu. I used to be hooked to generic anime style and shoujo but now i like the more
shonen style.
◆Are you satisfied with your current art?
I'm kinda glad i improved from end of sec 3 to the current level, but it's still not very good. KEEP WORKING ON IT!!!
◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I'm not aiming to be a professional mangaka/doujinka, but if i could sell chibi keychains at anime cons, it would be awesome. Here are just some artists i admire because of their wonderful drawing style and wacky sense of humour: Misaki (www.asakura-misakichi.deviantart.com), Chancake (www.chancake.deviantart.com), Nanneh (www.nanneh.deviantart.com) <---gawd, her traditional art just blows me away.
◆Thank you.
no prob.
WHEWWWW i'm beat. Tomorrow there's PTM and Mr Kang's gonna see my parents, ohnoes D: and i have a japanese test coming up. On the bright side, i'm almost done with my Hetalia pic so i can start with the lineart soon!

Saturday, July 04, 2009. 7:36 AM . Akai Itooooooo .
So, i went to watch Threads of Destiny (Japanese name: Akai Ito) with my bro today. Just like last year, when i hauled him into the cinema to watch HSM3 with me. Yeah, i'm a tween. He has no interest in romance movies or most of the stuff i like, but tags along so he can play the DS in the cinema lolol.

First read about this movie in the paper and thought "Wow, that girl's pretty! Wow, that's a hot guy!" <--superficial reason for wanting to watch a show, i know. The Japanese caption reads...uh... "jun ai wa kirei goto ja nai", i think. Sorry, i'm making use of my barely-there Japanese skills. I think it means true love isn't a clean-cut affair (?) HEY, JAPANESE-LITERATE PEOPLE, TELL ME IF I'M RIGHT ;_; *fails*
Such good-looking people in the show. And the Japanese have lovely school uniforms. Me likee.
And i just realised that the movie is a summary of the drama version releasd in Japan last December! The same cast, with additional characters. No wonder i was kinda confused watching the movie. I came out of the theatre feeling like i'd been run over by a steamroller--it was sad, and the ending kinda confused me. Maybe i'll be able to put the pieces together by watching the drama. But i need to find subtitled episodes and lots of tissue, haha.
GOING OUT WITH CHIAM ON MONDAY! <3
EOM is 3/4 done.
OH YEAH TODAY IS AMERICA'S BIRTHDAY! Seriously, Hetalia has made it such that i can't read papers, or my history notes for that matter, without laughing. Especially since International History focuses lots on America (Cold War). SEA history, for the first part, was all about colonial powers. We're doing ASEAN next...
Off to fangirl about the drama now, whee~

Thursday, July 02, 2009. 9:35 AM . kimi wo mitteru to, itsumo haato doki*doki .
I should be sleeping!! I think i blog only when people/numbers (+1 :p) nag me, or when i can't sleep and decide to while away my time doing unconstructive things (EOM?! HAVEN'T FOUND MY ARTICLES YET!).
So yeah, exams ended on Monday because i took History and Lit on the last week of holidays. Spent my first day of freedom at Island Creamery with my friends, went home for piano (still learning how to play this animu song i started learning nearly 2 months ago, which is better suited for the guitar because it's kinda rock-y but NVM)and doodled. The next few days were spent in Chinese oral practice, PW stuff and catching up on anime.
I'll chiong PW and History assignment tomorrow, honest ><
I want to watch Threads of Destiny~ but why is it only showing in 3 theatres out of the trillions in Singapore?! And the closest to my house is Orchard Cineleisure, which is still pretty far considering i stay in the East! Probably gonna watch it this weekend before we go back to school and *le gasp* face the music.
Apparently one of Jodi Picoult's books, My Sister's Keeper, has been made into a movie and released in America (if it's old news, sorry, i'm slooooow). I'm pretty interested in watching it when it comes to Singapore. My Sister's Keeper was the first Jodi Picoult book i read at 14, and i've been following her books since then. While the story patterns get predictable after a few books (family drama/emo/moral dilemma), i can't help looking forward to the new ones :'D this probably means i'm a sucker for sad stories and law dramas because her books have plenty of courtroom settings and "OBJECTION!" <--this is one catchphrase i always associate with lawyers, teehee. GYAKUTEN KENJI PLZ <3 i still can't read/understand enough japanese to play the game in its original lanugage.
It probably helped that i was going through a Phoenix Wright phase too.xDD
K, off to play Facebook games~
